Terms of service

These terms cover the studyTorium website and iOS app. Using either means you accept them.
Your account
You need to be at least 13 to use studyTorium, and old enough to hold the Apple or Google account you sign in with. You are responsible for what your account posts. One person, one account.
Your content
What you post stays yours. By posting it you give us a non-exclusive licence to store it, show it to the people your settings allow, and back it up — which is the minimum required for the app to work. The licence ends for content you delete, except in backups that expire on their own schedule.
What's not allowed
- Harassment, hate, threats, or sexual content involving minors — this is a campus app with photos in a public feed.
- Spam, scraping, or automated posting.
- Impersonating people or places, or deliberately polluting rankings.
- Uploading photos you don't have the right to share, or that identify people who haven't agreed to be posted.
Every post can be reported from inside the app, and any user can be blocked. We review reports and remove content or accounts that break these rules, without notice where necessary. Objectionable content is typically actioned within 24 hours of a report.
Place data
Place records include data from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the ODbL. Scores and rankings are our users' collective output and come with no warranty that a place is open, quiet, or has a free seat.
Ending things
You can delete your account in the app at any time (Profile → Delete account). We can suspend or remove accounts that break these terms. We can also discontinue the service; if that ever happens we'll say so on this site first.
The legal paragraph
The service is provided as-is, without warranties, and our liability is limited to the maximum extent the law allows. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. If a part of them is found unenforceable, the rest stands.
